Twilight [Updated! Videos Added!]

March13

Twilight Movie PosterTwilight… where to start? Well i went to see the movie when it was released and I really enjoyed it - this got me interested in reading the books.

Happily we found the first book in a charity shop purely by chance, and when I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. James could see me getting sucked into the story more and more, so he bought the next two books on Amazon - the fourth isn’t in paperback yet. I got so involved with the story that I read the first book within 4 days… and I’m not usually a fast reader. All the books took me under a week to read, except the last book Breaking Dawn (which we also picked up in the same charity shop, but in hardback), which is my least favourite of the series.

Knitting Hackey Sacks

December29

I found this ace pattern for hackey sacks and thought i would share i have tried a few but this is by far the easiest and quickest to pick up. So have a go and let me know what you think.
The pattern is from shazzaspatterns.blogspot.com she is a lady from Tasmania and she knits and sells so take a look!

Quick and easy to make and so much fun to play with!
And once you get the hang of it you can mix it up with different stripes or patterns.

And in the true fashion of Blue Peter… here’s some I made earlier:

What a fantastic way to reuse and recycle!!
If you love to read then sign up right now!!
Ok what the site involves :- It’s a book trading site where you list all the books you have that you don’t mind giving away, and you request others from the site in return. If you have 10 books you can request one book a month if you have over 30 books you can take one a week!! The only fees are postage when another user requests one of your books.

All you have to do is choose a book, click request and confirm and you’re done. Just wait for it to arrive! Then when someone wants one of yours, you will get an email with there address in and all you do is post it to them!
Of course I’m Toadpink on there so come on over and take a look - hope to hopp with you soon!

The Women’s Institute

October16

Last night i attended my first Women’s Institute meeting (Wootton Bassett branch) and i have to say it was ace!! There was going to be a talk on owls but the speaker is a gas man by day and there was an emergency so at the last minute a lovely lady called Madeline stepped up and created a quiz for us.

With questions such as “who wrote charge of the light brigade?” and “what is a group of crows called?”  - both of which my team got right!!  My team was myself and my friend Anna who came with me and a a very clever lady called Shirley, who if truth be known was kind of the brains in our team!!

Our team was named “the nerds” and nerds was right as we won!!! How good was that!!

Anna and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so much that i have already signed up to the promises auction where i have promised to bake a choc cake for someone!! And we are also going to meeting where we are “hooking” up with the hook WI and will have an evening of tasting as they have a chef coming to cook for us… yummy!!

The Women’s Institute is not the old lady meeting that everyone thinks it is a great opportunity for a bunch of girls to get together and have fun and learn something along the way i highly recommend it!!

The next meeting we are having a lady from Marks and Spencers to talk about their underwear!!
